Alloy steel is a class of steel that, in addition to carbon, is alloyed with other elements, ranging from 1 wt.% to 50 wt.%, which are used to enhance the material’s various properties [1]. These elements commonly include manganese, nickel, chromium, molybdenum, vanadium, silicon, and boron.
However, the mechanical properties of as-cast AZ80 magnesium alloy are too low to satisfy the requirement of wheels. Therefore, it is imperative to improve the mechanical properties of AZ80 magnesium alloy to achieve the aim.
The mechanical properties and formability of AZ31 magnesium alloy strips having different textures were investigated at a high strain rate based on that occuring in mass production by press forming. Forming at a high strain rate on the order of 10 0 s −1 requires a high temperature of over 473 K.

Mechanical properties and microstructure of three recycled alloy were investigated. Recycled AZ31B and AZ91D alloy show small exquiaxed grain. In recycled alloy fabried from two kinds of chips, AZ91 and AZ31 chips consolidate each other after being broken up during hot extruding, so the composition and microstructure of the recycled alloy are inhomogeneous.
