I personally use the .030 for most of my appliions up to 3/16. The trailer project I did I used .035 since most of the material was 3/16 and 1/4 and I wanted it structurally sound.

Wire feed problems are commonly caused by rusty welding wire. The rust acts as a lubricant on the feed rollers causing slip, and as an abrasive on the wire liner which increases resistance. The welding cable shipped out and arrived on time. Box was falling apart when arrived. It looks like it was stomped on and was dragged thru the dirt. The cable itself was plastic wrapped and it good shape. I ordered this to replace a very old ground cable on my wire welder. It works great for what I needed. I would recommend and I would buy again.
